JOSHUA WILLIAMS

BIO

Josh Williams is a guitarist from Seattle. He has worked on Carnival Cruise Line as guitarist and Music Manager. He currently plays electric guitar in a worship band for a local church on Mercer Island and can be found playing at venues and events around Seattle.  He is knowledgeable in many musical styles such as jazz, rock, R&B, and funk. He is a member of the jazz-fusion group Circling Drones, leads a jazz group, and plays solo.

Josh began playing guitar when he was 6-years old and has studied with Seattle’s Frank Seeberger. At the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he studied with Joe Lano and Dave Loeb. While at UNLV, Josh earned Bachelor’s degrees in Jazz Performance and Music History and a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance. As a member of the UNLV jazz band, Josh performed with jazz greats Bob Sheppard, Bobby Shew, Wayne Bergeron and Brandon Fields. Other career highlights include the playing at the 2011 Latin Grammys, touring with the progressive rock group Autumn Electric, and being a semi-finalist in the Yamaha 6 String Theory Guitar competition in 2012.
