DIANE HURST is a singer/songwriter from Portland Oregon. Diane is a visual artist, musician and songwriter, writing folk/Americana, children’s music, gospel/Christian music, and some mostly happy blues.
She started writing songs about 10 years ago, and after a couple of years began to sing them also, at local open mics and at her church. In recent years she has begun singing for some other events, such as a women’s conference, farmer’s market, songwriter showcases, and Christian worship events.
Her songs are in folk genre, and fit into categories of general folk music, children’s music, and Christian music.
Most of her life she has been a home school mom, teaching academics; but creativity was also always a part of this work. Her current occupation is partly with visual arts – doing graphic design work and drawings and paintings, and partly with music and art therapy/performance, bringing creative arts to people in adult care homes.
Diane says, “I’m in process of doing recording work and making more music videos; there are a lot of new songs over the past couple of years, and what is online as recordings is only a small part/sample of songs.”
